Sokratis Mergianos

Sokratis Mergianos is an external associate of Karydas – Fouskarinis & Associates Law Office, advising on criminal law, administrative law, public law and complex litigation matters.

He is admitted to the Athens Bar Association and holds a Law Degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as an LL.M. in Philosophy of Law from the same university. He is currently a PhD Candidate in Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Introduction

His practice covers a broad range of contentious and advisory matters, including criminal defense, white collar crime, extradition proceedings, civil and administrative litigation, human rights law, tort liability, property disputes and disciplinary proceedings involving public officials.

In addition to his legal practice, Sokratis has served as Legal Advisor to the Greek Ministry of Justice, where he has worked on legal policy issues, legislative initiatives and regulatory projects. He has contributed to legal and legislative work within the offices of both the Deputy Minister and the Minister of Justice, gaining significant experience in legislative drafting, public administration and institutional governance.

His professional approach combines academic rigor with practical legal analysis, enabling him to advise clients on complex legal issues involving both public and private law dimensions.
